{"id":1658,"date":"2021-08-14T20:04:21","date_gmt":"2021-08-14T18:04:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/time-to-talk.eu\/en\/?p=1658"},"modified":"2024-02-08T14:55:26","modified_gmt":"2024-02-08T13:55:26","slug":"shouldnt-time-off-be-called-time-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/time-to-talk.eu\/en\/shouldnt-time-off-be-called-time-on\/","title":{"rendered":"Shouldn&#8217;t &#8216;time off&#8217; be called &#8216;time on&#8217;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"kvgmc6g5 cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"color: #998c82;\">Don\u2019t think I\u2019ve ever meditated in a nicer, more calming, spot than I did this summer in beautiful Croatia. <\/span><span style=\"color: #998c82;\">I wanted to write something about taking time off etc. and wasn\u2019t sure whether to spell this with one f or two (okay, so I haven\u2019t had coffee just yet..).\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"color: #998c82;\">This is what The Google presented to me: \u201ca period of time when you do not work because of illness or holidays, or because your employer has given you permission to do something else: take\/have time off. One in five employees admits to taking time off because of stress.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"color: #998c82;\">What I wanted to write about is something I notice the most when I take time \u2018off\u2019; and that is, how brainwashed we are.. why is it called \u2018time off\u2019? If anything, it should be called \u2018time on\u2019 because most of us power through days hardly remembering what we had for lunch. Truth be told, it took me two days for sure to slow down to this level of relaxation but come on.. like life is about work and some weeks (if you\u2019re very \u2018lucky\u2019) where you get to recover??<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"color: #998c82;\">We\u2019re taught we should face reality. We\u2019re taught we can\u2019t have a win-win. There\u2019s always some kind of suffering that we have to endure.. and as I\u2019m also still trying to unlearn many things I was taught (for example by a school system that is not created to bring out the best in you, go figure..), I do notice that being a human being rather than a human doing (on the go 24\/7) always always always connects me to this inner knowing. It\u2019s very soothing. Your inner sat nav knooows what we\u2019re fed is a non truth plenty of times.<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"color: #998c82;\">Ask yourself what beliefs you\u2019ve started to believe? And whose agenda may benefit from this?<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"color: #998c82;\">I\u2019m living proof that you don\u2019t need a stable, happy and supportive childhood to get to being a stable, happy and able to support adult. I also belief in things I\u2019d like to achieve and always try to let go of the how. The how is up to Universe. It can provide in ways we literally can\u2019t even dream of.<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"color: #998c82;\">And yes, I\u2019m writing this from a very privileged place. More work for years to come than I\u2019ll be able to take on, healthy, sitting on this beautiful rock in a beautiful part of the world.. but is this privilege, really?
